“Интерес СИНЕ ФАНТОМа к исследованию пограничных зон кинематографа традиционен. Как некое аудиовизуальное произведение, будь то документация спектакля, перформанса, концерта или сознательно изготовленное видео для экспозиции современного искусства, связано с кинематографом? Есть ли потенциал в кинотеатральном показе такого видео?
Тенденция последнего времени - это мимикрия видеоарта под кино и телевидение, а также и обратное влияние: увлечение кино визуальными аттракционами. Происходит мощнейшее взаимовлияние. А мы стоим на границе и хотим показать нашему зрителю всю радугу этих прекрасных переливов”.

“CINEFANTOM’s interest in the exploration of borderline areas of cinematography is traditional. How is an audiovisual work – be it a recording of a play, a performance, a concert, or a video specifically made for an exhibition of contemporary art – related to cinematography? Is there any potential in theatrical screening of such a video?
One of the recent tendencies is mimicry of video art into film and TV, and vice versa: the passion of film for visual attractions. This mutual influence is extremely strong. We are standing on the borderline and want to show our viewer the whole spectrum of these magnificent iridescent shades.
This is why in our programme you’ll see films by authors, who already established themselves in their professions – artists, composers, writers, clowns. For each of them, their films are both self-sufficient works and, at the same time, a natural development of their professions. Also, you’ll see films by young cinematographers, who tend to use technologies of modern art rather than those of cinema.”

“Обсуждения в киноклубе СИНЕ ФАНТОМ это важнейшее условие существования клуба. Не зря они называются “знаменитые обсуждения”. Да, смотреть фильмы это важно, но ещё важнее обсуждать фильмы. Именно поэтому, в этом году, как и в прошлом Московский Кинофестиваль пригласил киноклуб СИНЕ ФАНТОМ обсуждать картины конкурсной программы “Перспективы”. Это может стать хорошей и важной традицией способствующей развитию и повышению уровня кинематографического диалога между зрителем и автором, что бесспорно ведёт к инновациям и модернизации части человеческого мозга отвечающей за кинопроцесс и кинопросмотр”.

“Discussions at CINE FANTOM are the main conditions of the club’s existence. This is why they are called “the renowned discussions”. Of course, it is important to watch films, but it is even more important to discuss them. This is why this year, just like the previous year, the Moscow International Film Festival invited CINE FANTOM to discuss films from the contest programme PERSPECTIVES. This can become a good and important tradition that encourages development and perfection of a cinematic dialogue between a viewer and an author, which undoubtedly leads to innovations and modernization of the part of the human brain responsible for the cinematic process and the watching of films”.

СЕЛЕКЦИЯ / SELECTION
Кинофестиваль СЕЛЕКЦИЯ — это уникальный эксперимент киноклуба СИНЕ ФАНТОМ, не имеющий аналогов в мире. С июля 2006 года исследовательская группа СИНЕ ФАНТОМ занимается сбором и репрезентацией современного независимого кино и других форм аудио-визуального искусства.
«Фестиваль устроен очень просто: ты присылаешь фильм и его сто процентов показывают. Любой автор становится участником фестиваля. Между автором и зрителем нет селекционеров. Свой выбор делает непосредственно зритель, сам определяя свои пристрастия. Важной частью фестиваля является диалог зрителя с автором, где они совместно вырабатывают критерии и смыслы. Цель фестиваля — актуализировать авторов, не заявивших себя в общепринятых формах репрезентации, зачастую пострадавших от рук неумелых кураторов и отборщиков. Гиперцель — найти самородки», — говорит кинорежиссер Глеб Алейников.
What is SELECTION?
“The idea of the festival is quite simple: one sends us their film and there is a 100% guarantee that it will be shown. Each author becomes participant of the festival. There is no selection committee, just an author and a viewer. It’s a viewer that makes their choice and defines their preferences. A dialogue between a viewer and an author is an essential part of the festival, which encourages creation of criteria and meanings. The aim of the festival is to highlight authors that so far have not established themselves in conventional forms of representation and that quite often have suffered at tough hands of unskilled curators or selectors. The top goal is to find a prodigy,” says film director Gleb Aleinikov.

ВИДЕОПОЭЗИЯ / VIDEOPOETRY
Основоположниками жанра в России стали Александр Горнон и Дмитрий Александрович Пригов. В 2007 году при поддержке сатирического журнала «Крокодил» и клуба СИНЕ ФАНТОМ на Книжном фестивале в ЦДХ состоялся первый фестиваль видеопоэзии «ЗРЯ!». Организаторы фестиваля — Екатерина Троепольская и Андрей Родионов. Фестиваль под новым названием «Пятая нога» проводится до сих пор, в ноябре. Ролики снимают не только профессионалы, но и любители, то есть искусство пошло в народ.

VIDEO POETRY
Video poetry was born on Western grounds – against a background of blooming contemporary art, activists were constantly mixing together all its possible kinds. What we call today video poetry had many names there: videovisual poetry, poetronics, poetry video, media poetry, digital poetry. However, the very essence of the product remained the same, developing only secondary characteristics, like the type of recording (digital or analogue), duration, author’s appearance/absence in the frame, appearance/absence of a text in the frame etc. The formal attribute of video poetry is a combination of verses and video. It’s a translation of a poem into a video language. It’s modern poetry combined with contemporary forms of cinema, video and media art.
The founders of the genre in Russia were Alexander Gornon and Dmitry Alexandrovich Prigov. In 2007 at the Book Fair at Central Artist’s House and with the support of a satirical magazine Krokodil and the CINE FANTOM Club the first festival of video poetry ZRYA! took place. Ekaterina Troepolskaya and Andrey Rodionov were the organizers of the festival. Nowadays, the festival takes place every November, under a new name The Fifth Leg. Both professionals and amateurs shoot their videos, thus making video poetry a truly people’s form of art.
